Collaborate on a new Product - Learning Management Platform
Chalenge
Building a product from the ground up in an organization without a product-centric mindset required navigating significant hurdles. Establishing foundational design principles, creating a minimal yet impactful user experience, and aligning stakeholders around the vision wer critical to overcoming the constraints of a tight budget and limited resources.
My role
As a UX Designer at the time, I collaborated with two team members: Bruna Ferencz (UX Lead at the time) and João Salmória (UI Designer), to define the design aspects of the product. Later, when I took over the product independently, I worked closely with stakeholders and the sales team to improve the product by analyzing client requirements and implementing customizations to enhance the core functionalities.
Product the conception
Design Principle
The core design principle of the product was to create a unified yet role-specific interface. This meant that both students and managers would use the same platform, but their experience would be tailored based on their roles, with only the relevant actions and information visible to them.
Hierarchical menus
The product's structure balanced complexity with usability through a hierarchical menu system: a primary menu for platform-wide functions and a secondary menu for classroom-specific actions, ensuring clarity, consistency, and scalability.
Visual Differentiation
The menus were visually distinguished using varying shades of green to clearly identify the classroom environment. This approach enhanced user orientation by creating a subtle yet effective color-coded system, ensuring that users could easily distinguish between different sections of the platform and navigate seamlessly.
Student side
Streamlined Learning Experience
The most important aspect for the student— in this case, the employee taking the company's courses— is content organization. The structure of learning paths and progression provides clarity on the learning journey, while features like full-screen mode enhance focus and immersion. A side menu for accessing sessions and modules allows employees to navigate easily and jump to specific topics as needed.
Seamless Navigation and Centralized Learning
The left sidebar organizes key actions like accessing the catalog, classroom, and learning tracks, ensuring easy navigation. Progress indicators ("In Progress," "Not Started") provide instant status updates, while the classroom screen centralizes details like course duration, responsibilities, and resources. Prominent buttons like "Access" guide users seamlessly, creating a functional and engaging experience.
Application
The product includes a mobile app for employees/students, designed to facilitate easy access to content. It also incorporates a gamification structure to enhance engagement and motivation throughout the learning journey.
Admin side
Efficient Learning Management for Corporate Teams
The administrative side of the product is tailored for corporate training teams, enabling easy user management, content organization, and tracking of employee progress. As an LMS for managers, it streamlines training workflows, generates performance reports, and supports content customization for organizational needs.
All important
The menu is divided into two main sections: Teaching and Learning, which includes access to the catalog and classroom, and Administration, which provides tools for managing solutions, tracks, library, mediation plans, community, user management, and reporting. Additional sections include Settings for system configurations and FAQ for user support.
White Label solution
The LMS offers a White Label solution, allowing companies to fully customize the platform's branding, interface, and features to align seamlessly with their corporate identity and training needs.
The product continues to be offered by the company, serving major educational corporations in Brazil's agribusiness sector as well as other large organizations for corporate training. Since then, other products have been developed, and my role in the evolution process included not only creating the visual identity but also designing how the expanded product would function, offering a multi-experience solution.
